Mad Hatter
2002 16'2 Chestnut Hanoverian Stallion
Magic Ambitions x Broadway
Owned by Foxwood Farm
Note from Sarah:
He's a bit of a hot head, smart as a whip but very stubborn
and very typical stallion, he's hard to handle on the ground and can be
pretty hot in the ring, always wanting to race around as fast as possible -
I'd really like to, of course, take him to Grand Prix... for now, I want to
promote him as a stud & competitor as well as apply for REAA within the
year, if possible.
First Observation Notes:
What I'm seeing in him is a young stallion that is not being challenged enough.
I think he would greatly benefit from a 6 day a week work schedule and being worked over taller fences with wider spreads; something that makes him think more about his job and less about the fact that he's a studly man.
He also needs to spend a bit of time with just straight up flat work; suppling, bending, etc.
I think he would do well in a the level fives and sixes, alongside the 8yoYJCs for 2010.
I will know more about whether or not this is something he's physically ready for after a few weeks of work with us.
