In the barn, "Topper" is a sweet filly. She is easy to handle and anyone can deal with her but don't let that fool you -- under saddle she is a fire ball and she has been quick to unseat quite a few of our riders while we have been starting her under saddle. She likes to buck and she's a bit dirty about it. She gets bored quickly and she has a ton of personality. She's fiesty and full of herself, she doesn't exhibit herself to be much of an Appaloosa -- people are convinced she has some Thoroughbred in her somewhere.

First Observation Notes:
This little girl is actually one I've been watching closely in the three year old classes this year, which is odd considering she's an Appaloosa and my barn is full of Warmbloods! My first impressions of her is that she's a very sweet filly who is quite eager to please. She seems to be a bit unsteady at the canter, as if she's not quite sure where to place all her feet - which may be the cause of the bucking. It almost feels like she's trying too hard to act like a completely grown up horse and it's getting her in trouble with her balance. I think she'll benefit from lots of caveletti's and canter work both on the lunge line and under saddle.
