Training Information

Send your hosre to train with Harlem International can be a wonderful and rewarding experience for both you and your horse. We have a very simple philosphy when it comes to horses and their eduction. That every horse is an individual and just because something works with one horse, does not mean it will work with all.

Harlem is a show barn and our goal is for every horse to compete. Horses that are not mentally or physically ready for the show ring will not be accepted. We only accept trainees that are comfortable performing walk, trot and canter on the flat and have been introduced to at least crossrails. Essentially, we want trainees that are going to at least be ready for the Baby Green Hunters or the Level One Jumpers within a month of arriving at Harlem.

The following training fees include full board, rides 4-6 days a week, hauling to shows, and the same level of care that all Harlem horses receive. The fees do not include show, vet or farrier fees. You as the owner are responsible for paying those. Show fees will include only your horse's entry fees, not admin, rider or medic fees.

Full Hunter or Jumper Training: $850
Consignment Hunter or Jumper Training: $850 + comission

Consignment training includes everything full training does, but Harlem will also market your horse to both the Riata public and our private clients. The commission is dependent on the final sale price of the horse.

Unfortunetly, we can not always guarantee that Fallon will always be the one riding your horse, due to the large volume of horses housed with us. However, we can guarantee that your horse will always be ridden by a qualified rider under Fallon's express instructions.

If you own a horse bred by Harlem (easiest way to tell is if they have Harlem in their name) or own a horse that was adopted from Zodewood in the last three months, you will receive a 20% discount on that horse's training fees.

Training Inquiries
Please note that by sending a full inquiry about training to us, you are agreeing to make a good faith effort to send your horse(s) to Harlem.

To make an inquiry about training, we need you to submit a horse profile for each horse you wish to send to Harlem. These profiles need to including the following:

-A small paragraph outlining your horse's personality, any issues you are having and what your goal is for your horse
-The date of his/her last farrier and vet visit with what was done (this includes what type of shoeing job is done on your horse)
-An estimate on the amount of time you would like your horse at Harlem
-A link to his/her page or show results

Once this is received, Fallon will respond to your email within 72 hours with an evaluation of your horse. This evaluation can be anywhere from one sentence to two paragraphs long. A total of what you will owe for the number of horses and months will also be included in this response.

To confirm your horse's spot at Harlem, please respond with a check for the total amount of time decided upon. Please be aware that by sending this check, you are agreeing to send your horse to Harlem for training and to pay any additional charges incurred while he/she is with us. You are also agreeing not to hold Harlem responsible for any injuries or death.

By accepting your check, Harlem is agreeing to traing your horse for the full amount of time outlined and to provide your horse the same quality of care as all residents of the farm. We are also agreeing to do what we can to prevent and treat any injury or sickness, including calling a vet if needed.

Waiting List
Harlem only accepts up to 10 horses for trianing at a time and usually only four horses per owner. Should we not have a spot for your horse at the time of your inquiry, your horse will be placed on a waiting list and you will be given an estimated date of availablity. This date can change if current clients decide to leave their horses at Harlem for longer then originally agreed.
